<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver which can suppress an increase in power consumption caused by standby power without separately providing any device for cutting the standby power. <P>SOLUTION: The broadcast receiver (television set 1) includes: a power supply section 10 for supplying power to a receiver body; a first outlet 10a which is connected to the power supply section 10 and can connect the power supply plug of a peripheral device 30 for supplying power from the power supply section 10 to the peripheral device 30; a first switch 10c for bringing the power supply section 10 and the first consent 10a into a connected state and a disconnected state; and a control section 7. The control section 7 determines whether it is necessary to supply power to the peripheral device 30 on the basis of predetermined setting information and is configured to control the first switch 10c to bring the power supply section 10 and the first outlet 10a into the disconnected state when it is determined that it is not necessary to supply power to the peripheral device 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
