OPENING/CLOSING DEVICE OF DOCUMENT PRESSING PLATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing device of a document pressing plate for preventing running out of a compression spring without using an expensive component such as a reinforcing plate.

SOLUTION: The opening/closing device of the document pressing plate includes: a hinge case which is attached to a machine body of a copying machine or the like and whose upper part is opened; a rotating shaft inserted in an attaching bracket provided on the upper part of a hinge case; a rotation arm which is rotatably attached to the rotating shaft and integrally attaches the document pressing plate; a cam member integrally provided on a lower side of the rotation arm; a slider slidably stored in the hinge case; and the compression spring which is stored in the hinge case and makes the upper face of the slider elastically abut on the cam member. When a stopper shaft is attached to the upper part of the hinge case to further open the rotation arm from the maximum release angle so as to break the attaching bracket, the opening/closing device prevents running out and scattering of the compression spring.
