PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt conveyor preventing backlash of a roller for stretching a belt, and easy in loosening the belt. SOLUTION: The belt conveyor includes: a roller support part 6 movable with respect to a body frame 5 and supporting a first roller 4; and a lock mechanism 7 locking the roller support part 6 with respect to the body frame 5. The lock mechanism 7 includes: a lock member 23 held by the roller support part 6 slidably in the width direction of the belt 2 and engaged with a frame side engaging part 17 of the body frame 5 to lock the roller support part 6; and an urging member 24 urging the lock member 23 to one side of the belt 2 in the width direction. In the belt conveyor, the engagement of the frame side engaging part 17 with the lock member 23 is maintained by the urging force of the urging member 24, and the engagement of the frame side engaging part 17 with the lock member 23 is released when the lock member 23 is slid to the other side of the belt 2 in the width direction.
