PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile station which can obtain good throughput, and to provide a control method thereof. SOLUTION: The mobile station 10 includes a reception quality measuring unit 104 which measures the reception quality by using a known signal which is transmitted from a base station, an error correcting unit 102 which corrects the user data transmitted from a base station by a modulation system selected according to the reception quality by using a correction code and measures the error rate, an amount of correction operating unit 103 which calculates the amount of correction for correcting the reception quality measured by the reception quality measuring unit 104 based on the comparison results of the error rate measured by the error correcting unit 102 and the target range of error rate, a reception quality information correcting unit 105 which corrects the reception quality measured by the reception quality measuring unit 104 by using the amount of correction calculated by the amount of correction operating unit 103, and a transmission unit 107 which transmits the reception quality corrected by the reception quality information correcting unit 105 to the base station.
