PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To introduce EGR gas to a more appropriate position in an EGR system for an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The EGR system for the internal combustion engine 1 which includes a plurality of cylinders 2 and of which intake passage 3 is branched at a branch part 31 and is connected to each cylinder 2, includes a first EGR passage 42 connecting an exhaust gas passage 4 and the intake air passage 32 at a downstream of the branch part 31, a second EGR passage 43 connecting the exhaust gas passage 4 and the intake air passage 34 at an upstream of the branch part 31, and a control means 10 making EGR gas flow to the first EGR passage 42 when vehicle speed is lower than threshold value, and making the EGR gas flow to the second EGR passage 43 when vehicle speed is not less than the threshold value.
