PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a resin composition excellent in impact resistance and tensile elongation. SOLUTION: The method for producing the thermoplastic resin composition containing an aliphatic polyester-based polymer (A), an ethylenic polymer (B) having an epoxy group, an acid-modified polyolefin-based polymer (C) and a polyolefin-based polymer (D) comprises: a first kneading step of kneading the aliphatic polyester-based polymer (A) with the ethylenic polymer (B) having the epoxy group to produce a resin composition precursor; and a second kneading step of kneading the resin composition precursor, the acid-modified polyolefin-based polymer (C) and the polyolefin-based polymer (D).
