<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery by which deformation of a current collector or exfoliation of a negative electrode active material layer from the current collector can be suppressed effectively. <P>SOLUTION: The negative electrode for the lithium ion secondary battery includes the current collector and the negative electrode active material layer formed on at least one face of the current collector.
