PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle room lighting system for producing high output when taking a look at hand without giving a feeling of glare to a user when using a mirror in a sun visor. SOLUTION: When detecting the visual line of the user, the vehicle room lighting system controls the output of a light source mounted in the sun visor along to the visual line of the user. Namely, it includes the vehicle room sun visor 5 to be arranged turnably on a vehicle room ceiling 101 at a selective opening angle and stored in contact with the vehicle room ceiling, a light emitting part 10 mounted on/near the face of the vehicle room sun visor 5 to face the vehicle room ceiling, and a distance detecting part 20 for detecting a distance between the light emitting part 10 mounted on the face of the vehicle room sun visor 5 to face the vehicle room ceiling 101 and the face of the user. When the distance detecting part 20 determining that the distance from the face of the user is smaller than a predetermined value, light is emitted with relatively lower output.
