PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately estimate bias errors for an air vehicle in flight, under high-speed spin conditions. SOLUTION: A processing section 130 of the air vehicle 100 collects a series of data from a gyroscope 112 and X-, Y-, and Z-direction accelerometers 114, at a time 1 and a time 2 prior to the expansion of canards 152. An estimated accelerometer bias b<SB>Y</SB>of the Y-direction accelerometer is computed, on the basis of data collected at the two time points by using b<SB>Y</SB>=(A<SB>Y2</SB>ω<SB>1</SB><SP>2</SP>-A<SB>Y1</SB>ω<SB>2</SB>2)/(ω<SB>1</SB><SP>2</SP>-ω<SB>2</SB><SP>2</SP>), whereinω<SB>1</SB>andω<SB>2</SB>are roll rates at the times 1 and 2 acquired from the gyroscope; and A<SB>Y1</SB>and A<SB>Y2</SB>are accelerations at the time 1 and at the time 2 measured by the Y-direction accelerometer.
