<p>Disclosed is a long-lived carbide end mill which can ensure stabilized cutting in high efficiency machining such as die machining or parts machining, can manufacture or re-grind a tool easily at a low cost, and can set the permissible number of revolutions to a high speed by fully dispersing the cutting resistance thereby minimizing the chatter vibration. Also disclosed is a cutting method using the end mill. Specifically disclosed is a carbide end mill characterized in that when an outer peripheral cutting edge having a certain wave shape or a nick shape is an outer peripheral cutting edge of a reference shape, the phase shift of at least either wave-shaped outer peripheral cutting edge or nick-shaped outer peripheral cutting edge to the axial direction of a tool falls within a width of 5% or less of the wave pitch or the nick pitch, excluding 0%, from the respective phases of the outer peripheral cutting edge of a reference shape. Also disclosed is a cutting method wherein at least two or more kinds of cutting selected from vertical feed cutting, cross-feed cutting and oblique cutting are carried out continuously.</p> |
