The projector has an electrically controlled light emitter, a processing unit for controlling the light emitter, and one or multiple position sensors. A storage unit is also provided to store a position as initial value and to detect position changes relative to a position by the sensors. The processing unit is arranged to conduct a distortion of the projection as a function of the detected position change. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a projection of an image or image sequence or film on a projection surface.
