<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell by which flooding by moisture infiltrating into the inside of the fuel cell can be suppressed, and continuous and stable power generation is made possible. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell 100 is formed by vertically carrying out multiple lamination of: a positive electrode having a positive electrode catalyst layer to reduce oxygen; a negative electrode having a negative electrode catalyst layer to oxidize fuel; and an electrode-electrolyte integrated structure 20 having a solid polymer electrolyte membrane disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode via a separator 10. In the fuel cell, a drainage mechanism having the same area as that of the separator in plan view is provided at the lower part than the lowermost electrode-electrolyte integrated structure out of a plurality of laminated electrode-electrolyte integrated structures.
