<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration type drive device which has a simple configuration and detects the position of a moving object. <P>SOLUTION: The vibration type drive device 1 has: a shaft-like drive member 8, an electromechanical conversion element 7 for tilting the drive member 8 and also displacing it in a shaft direction, a moving object 9 to be slidably engaged with the drive member 8, a drive circuit 3 for applying a cyclic friction drive voltage for asymmetrically displacing the drive member 8 reciprocally in the shaft direction to slip-displace the moving object and a cyclic inclination drive voltage for inclining and vibrating the drive member 8, to the electromechanical conversion element 7, a resonant frequency detecting means for detecting the resonant frequency of the inclined vibration of the drive member 8, and a position estimating means for estimating the position of the moving object on the basis of the resonant frequency. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
