<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the concentration of gas pressure in the vicinity of an insertion opening of an inflator when a side airbag is inflated and deployed without affecting an outer shape of the side airbag in a side airbag device in which the inflator is arranged in the side airbag. <P>SOLUTION: A protruding part 20, which is exposed from outer peripheries 32A, 34A of upper foundation cloths 32 and lower foundation cloths 34 and where the insertion opening 36B for inserting the inflator 14 is formed, is provided at a part of a tube foundation cloths 36. The inflator 14 is inserted into the side airbag 12 from the insertion opening 36B. The peripheral parts of the insertion opening 36B are fastened and fixed to the inflator 14 by a clamp 21. The upper foundation cloths 32 and the lower foundation cloths 34 are not sewed together respectively in the overlapping range with the tube foundation cloths 36 of the outer peripheries 32A, 34A of upper foundation cloths 32 and lower foundation cloths 34, so that the side airbag 12 can be inflated even in the overlapping range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
