<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique by which a user smoothly selects an external device on a screen for external input selection. <P>SOLUTION: A video display device includes a video output part 8 for displaying video, and a plurality of external input terminals 2 for inputting a model information packet of an external device when inputting a video packet from the external device. A storing part 5 stores information for managing connection states of the external input terminals 2 by associating the model information acquired from the model information packet of the external device with the external input terminals 2. A control part 6 controls the video output part 8 to display the connection states of the external input terminals 2 stored in the storing part 5. A connection state management part 3 analyzes the model information packet input from the external device through the external input terminals 2, and by using the model information acquired from the result of the analysis, updates the information for managing the connection states of the external input terminals 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
