PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface acoustic wave resonator which reduces a ripple in passing characteristics, and a surface acoustic wave filter using the same. SOLUTION: The present invention comprises: a piezoelectric substrate 11; an IDT 13 formed by a plurality of electrode fingers arranged on a surface of the piezoelectric substrate; and a reflector 14 arranged in the vicinity of both ends of the IDT. The IDT has a gradation region 1250 where the electrode finger pitch of the electrode fingers at both ends is reduced gradually. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
