PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motion bearing having a large movable distance of a shaft body relative to the length of an outer cylinder, and excellent durability. SOLUTION: The linear motion bearing includes an outer cylinder 11 having a pair of circumferential grooves 11a and 11a formed on the inner circumferential surface with a space from each other; a cylindrical rolling element retainer 13 which retains a plurality of rolling elements 12, 12 disposed between both the circumferential grooves on the inner circumferential surface of the outer cylinder along the axial direction and the circumferential direction with each rolling element partially protruded to the outer circumferential surface side and the inner circumferential surface side, respectively; and an annular stop tool 14 having an inner circumferential part housed in each circumferential groove of the outer cylinder while being protruded from the groove to the inside. The inside diameter of the annular stop tool is set to be larger than the outer diameter of the retainer, and the drop of the retainer 13 to the outside of the outer cylinder 11 is prevented by the contact of the inner circumferential part of the stop tool 14 with portions protruded to the outer circumferential surface side of the retainer 13 of rolling elements 12a located at both axial ends of the rolling elements retained by the retainer 13.
