PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that can easily photograph expression (including the smiling face) of a subject or the movement (the gesture) of the subject matching a photographic scene or the photographic mode of a camera without time and labor. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus (11 to 28) includes: a setting means (20) of setting trigger information in accordance with the photographic mode and/or the photographic scene; a detecting means (20) of detecting expression or the movement (the gesture) of the subject as a trigger to release the shutter from a through image based on the trigger information set by the setting means, and a control means (20) of automatically performing primary photography when the detecting means detects the expression or movement of the subject.
