PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of rapidly and easily detecting lead on the surface of a solid specimen. SOLUTION: The method of detecting lead includes the following steps:(a) a step of allowing a base material impregnated or coated with an alkaline solution to abut on the solid specimen; (b) a step of making liquid nature of an alkaline solution containing potassium iodide acidic under the presence of potassium iodide that is contained in the alkaline solution or to which the alkaline solution is added after the contact; and (c) a step of confirming coloring on the base material. In the method of detecting lead, a method of indicating inclusion of lead in the specimen is provided when yellow coloring is confirmed in the step (c). COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
