PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost steel can body superior in resistance to filiform corrosion, free from any problems or the like on external appearance. SOLUTION: The can body includes a steel-made can trunk subjected to joining by seam welding, and characteristically contains, within the coating film of a touch-up painting on the exterior surface of the can body in the trunk part, 0.3 to 20 wt.% of metal zinc particles of a mean particle diameter being 2 to 9 μm.
