The floor system has a floor surface (2) and an under surface (5). A piezo-electric material is arranged between the floor surface and the under surface. Electrical energy is produced on the floor surface under application of force (2a). The floor surface has a layer, which is selected fro the group of amtico flooring, glass, stoneware, metal, plastic, carpets, carpet boards, poly-vinyl chloride flooring, chip boards, sporting flooring, tiles, stone, terra cotta, marble, paving-stones and natural stone. An independent claim is also included for a method for generating electrical current by a floor system.
