<p>The method involves engaging a target gear ratio different from a gear ratio on which a single friction unit (31) of a gearbox (4) is installed. The friction unit is activated for transmitting torque via the latter gear ratio when the target gear ratio is engaged, so as to simultaneously engage the two ratios for braking a motor vehicle. The friction unit is chosen from Borg Warner(RTM: high-energy synchronizer) or New Process(RTM: high-energy synchronizer), multi-cone clutch, multi-plate clutch, wet clutch and dry clutch.</p> |
