A computer system comprises first and second computer devices 110, 120, each computer device having at least one processing unit 112, 122, a storage unit 114, 124 and an operating system 116, 126. One of the computer devices further comprises a connector 130 for the computer devices to be combined into a single (hybrid) system, in which the resources of each device can be shared. Each computer device can be utilised independently when they are separated. The connector may be a wedge, bearing, or slide bars [Fig. 1; 131, 132] . One computer device may communicate with the other in a master-slave structure, and a switching unit 150 may select which devices acts as the master system. The operating system of the master system may be displayed, with the slave system configured to enter sleep mode when it is not operating. One of the computer devices may further comprise a touch-sensitive screen, and the other may comprise an input unit, with these acting as the main output/input devices of the combined unit. The system may be a mobile device and docking system, a laptop computer system, or tablet personal computer. |
