A 3D stereoscopic image display device comprising a polarisation conversion device to convert light from the display into a first polarised light in response to a first driving voltage during an Nthframe period and to convert light from the display into a second polarised light in response to a second driving voltage during an (N+1)thframe period, wherein the time phase at which scanning of the image data starts is synchronised differently to the phase at which scanning of the driving voltage starts. The duty ratio of on/off timings of the gate lines and scan lines for the left and right eye data may be varied by a time shifter. The polarisation conversion device is a retarder panel which may have a half-wave plate optical axis characteristic. The device prevents crosstalk from occurring between the left-eye and right-eye images of polarisation glasses by making the on/off timings of the display's scan electrodes and the polarisation conversion device different in order to give an identical response characteristic. |
