<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TCP communication quality estimating method for estimating TCP throughput, while reducing a measuring load on a network. <P>SOLUTION: When an access line speed to a communication network of a transmission source is denoted as r(bps), and a packet size to be used in actual communication is denoted as MSS(byte), the transmission source generates N packets having a packet size MSS'(byte) which is sufficiently smaller than MSS(byte), and transfers the N packets at an access speed r×MSS'/MSS(bps), in accordance with TCP communication; and a reception destination measures a time T'(s), until the completion of the N-packet transfer, defines the T'(s) as an estimated value of a transfer time T(s) required to transfer a fiel of N×MSS(byte) from the transmission source to the reception destination, and defines N×MSS×8/T'(bps) as an estimated value of a transfer speed N×MSS×8/T(bps). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
