Method for protecting a shift mechanism in a automated gearbox of an automobile

The method involves activating a torque transmission assembly by an actuator of synchronization device, where the actuator is controlled based on determination of maximal setpoint of speed i.e. target speed (Vmax) or gear changing effort, by a control unit. Operational parameter of a gear box is measured and compared with previously established range of values of the parameter corresponding to a normal operation of gearbox. The target speed or effort is replaced by a reduced coupling speed (Vinit) or effort when the measured parameter is not in the range.
