The device (1) has a working capacity i.e. temperature-controlled storage capacity, whose temperature is controlled by a temperature control unit. A temperature sensor senses the temperature of the working capacity and is coupled to a temperature monitoring controller (9). The temperature monitoring controller is coupled with an analysis point (19b) via a data communication system (18) for transmitting temperature measurement values from the temperature monitoring controller to the analysis point at specified time intervals, where the temperature measurement values are programmed. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring a temperature-controlled storage device.
