The method involves loading lower and upper deforming units (12, 16) of a molding device (10) with lower and upper thermoplastic blanks (14, 18), respectively. An insert part (34) is fixed at a retaining frame (32) of the molding device. The lower and upper thermoplastic blanks are molded to lower and upper molded part elements, respectively. The insert part is supported on the lower molded part element using the retaining frame. The upper and lower molded part elements are connected, so that the insert part is accommodated between the molded part elements. An independent claim is also included for a molding device for manufacturing a hollow plastic molded part.
