<p>A method of setting a transmission power of a broadcast channel of a femto base station in a wireless communications network, a femto base station capable of carrying out said method and a computer program product operable when executed on a computer to perform said method. Said method comprises the steps of:
(i) monitoring for a transmission on a broadcast channel from each neighbouring base station;
(ii) calculating from each received transmission an estimated distance between that neighbouring base station and said femto base station; and
(iii) setting said transmission power of the broadcast channel of the femto base station in response to that estimated distance to between a neighbouring base station and said femto base station which is calculated to be smallest.</p> |
