<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic instrument such as a printer or an MFP (Multiple Function Printer) easily discriminating stored jobs while inhibiting overwriting on the job to be stored, and to provide a data management method and a program. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic instrument of the present invention provides a job name for every user name to a file for storage in a memory area in the job specified save. In the electronic instrument, a save date and time is provided to the job name for storage when the same user saves the jobs having the same job name and the save date and time and an identification number are provided to the job name for storage when the same user saves the jobs having the same job name on the same save date and time. Furthermore, when a printing request for the job is received from the user, the user name, the job name, the save date and time, and the identification number are successively displayed.
