The present invention relates to the use of a composition comprising at least one compound of formula (I) as a plant nutriment. The present invention furthermore relates to a composition comprising the compound of formula (I) and at least one member selected from vitamins, minerals, micronutrients, sulphur- or selenium donors and optionally at least one acid and/or salt selected from a compound of formula (II), hydroxyl-dicarboxylic acids and salts thereof, lactic acid and salts thereof, acetyl-coenzyme A, and mixtures of two or more thereof.
