PURPOSE: An apparatus for hot-forming a head for a pressure vessel using a press is provided to reduce the time for separating a head from a mold because a head separating unit is installed in the moving part of the press. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for hot-forming a head for a pressure vessel includes a press moving part(10), a male mold(12), a pair of locking members(16), a female mold(20), a top plate(22), and a plurality of support posts(24). The male mold is suspended down from the moving part. The locking members are arranged on both sides of the moving part. The female mold mates with the male mold to form a head in a predetermined shape. The top plate supports the female mold. The support posts support the female mold and the top plate. Each locking member includes one or more connecting members(42) having a through hole. A plurality of connecting members(26) are formed on the upper side of the top plate. When the connecting members of the locking members and the top plate are arranged, the central part of the locking members is located in a part of the edge of the head and fixing pins are inserted in the through holes in order to fix the locking members.
