The present invention concerns a method for determining if signals transferred between a base station and a terminal of a wireless telecommunication network have to be relayed by a relay, the signals being transferred on physical resource blocks the relay relaying signals at a transmission power independent of the number of signals transferred by the relay during a given period of time. For each physical resource block, the method comprises the steps of :
- calculating a figure of merit of using relaying for the signal transferred on the physical resource block,
- calculating a figure of merit of not using relaying for the signal transferred on the physical resource block,
- calculating a relay power correction value for the relay which is dependent on the number of physical resource blocks on which signals relayed,
- deciding, according to the calculated figures of merit and the relay power correction value, whether the signals transferred on the physical resource block are relayed or not.
