发明名称 Straight-bar knitting machine
摘要 447,709. Knitting. ETABLISSEMENTS LEBOCY, 23, Avenue Pasteur, Troyes, Aube, France. May 16, 1935, No. 14313. Convention date, May 25, 1934. [Class 74 (ii)] In a straightbar knitting-machine for Basque bÚrets or the like, comprising a cylinder intermittently rotated and carrying strikers for actuating vary. ing numbers of needles, after forming a gore the cylinder disengages a pawl-and-ratchet device by abutment means and is returned to its initial position by a weight, whilst, after producing the required number of gores, the cylinder is maintained disengaged whilst finishing rows are being knitted. The cam carriage 6 is reciprocated by a roller carried on an endless chain and engaging a vertical slot 25 formed in a plate 26 rigid with the carriage. The carriage 6 drives either of two thread guide carriers 7, 8, by means of a dog 13 coacting with a downwardly curved finger 15 on the carrier 7 or 8. The fingers can be rocked upwardly against springs 18, and either of them may be so held by opposed wedges 5, 6, Fig. 5 (not shown), secured to the link 5, and thus one thread guide may be left at the end of its stroke and the other rendered operative. The needles are advanced by strikers 29 of various lengths arranged on a cylinder 27 pivoted on a shaft 35, and swung forward on arms 30 by a spring 34. As a cam 33 forces back the arms 30, a plate 39, journalled on shaft 35, abuts against a lever 58, and causes a pawl 37 to rack the cylinder round one tooth of a ratchet wheel 36. A pawl 38 acts as a stop in the forward swing of the cylinder. On the completion of a gore, an abutment 64 on the cylinder contacts with an abutment lever 60 and moves the lever 58 transversely from behind plate 39 which falls back, lifting pawls 37, 38, when a weight 51 restores cylinder 27 to its initial position. Meanwhile, lever 58 has moved opposite a second pawl-carrying plate 43, and racked the ratchet wheel 45 of a counting device one tooth, so that this ratchet counts the number of successive gores knitted. When the necessary number of gores has been knitted, a cam 47 carried by a disc 46 fixed to the ratchet wheel 45 acts to lock the lever 58 in this second position. At each alternate stroke of the levers 30 the ratchet 45 is now rocked one tooth until it has been moved as many teeth as it previously counted gores. Meanwhile, a second cam 48, carried by the disc 46, rocks a lever 53, and so, through the link 5, causes an exchange of thread guide carriers 7, 8. Finishing rows of the bÚret are now knitted until the disc 46 has been rotated through a sufficient angle to render cams 47, 48, inoperative, thus restoring the whole machine to its original setting.
