INSTALLATION AND PROCESS FOR TESTING TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF TRANSIENT PRESSURE TRANSDUCERS

The invention relates to an installation and a process for testing the technical characteristics of a transient pressure transducer in the presence of a pressurized gas. According to the invention, the installation consists of a base plate (1), a pressure controller (3), a pressure tank (6) wherein there is stored the maximal pressure required for the tests, which is in direct connection with the pressure controller (3) by means of a connection pipe (4), the tank (6) provided with two valves (5 and 7), an inlet valve and an outlet valve, respectively, being in connection with a block (9) comprising a digital pressure gauge (10) and a valve (11) employed in discharging the pressurized gas from the circuit at the end of the tests, said block (9) being in close connection with an electrically-operated valve (13) actuated by a switch (14), for the sudden opening of the gas pressure access into the circuit, which is in direct connection with a transducer block (16) by means of a connection pipe (15), a pressure transducer to be tested (17) and a standard pressure transducer (18) being mounted in said block (16). The claimed process carried out by means of said installation consists in filling the pressurized gas circuit, supplying the pressurized gas up to the pressure desired for the test, reading the pressure in the tank by means of the digital pressure gauge, quickly releasing the pressurized gas to compare the technical characteristics of the transducer to be tested with the standard transducer, after which the signals from both transducers, as resulting from testing, are sent to a signal amplifier and then to a digital oscilloscope, with a view to forwarding the data to a computer which process them, store and display them on a displaying device or on paper, by means of a printer.
