PURPOSE: A light emitting diode unit and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve luminous efficiency by refracting light emitted from a light emitting diode chip to the upper side by a light diffusion unit formed on an upper optical waveguide. CONSTITUTION: An aperture(12) is formed in the center of an upper optical waveguide sheet(10). A light diffusion unit is formed on the bottom around the aperture. A plurality of refraction grooves(14a) are formed on the bottom of the light diffusion unit. The upper optical waveguide sheet is made of PC, PET, PE, PI, PU, and LGF(Light Guide Film).
