An irrigator control system that uses irrigator position, water source information, and field information to control moving irrigators

An irrigation system and a computer-implemented method of controlling an irrigation system are disclosed. The irrigation system includes one or more moving irrigators, water outlets on the irrigators to deliver water to an area to be irrigated, valves for controlling water flow through each of the outlets, one or more positioning systems to determine the position of the irrigators, and a controller. The controller receives inputs in the form of information relating to the water source, information relating to the area to be irrigated, and information relating to the irrigator position. Based on the aforementioned inputs, the controller controls the valves to change the water flow through the outlets.
