Transferring media over a mobile network only if identifiers in a request are matched to those in a remote device memory

Disclosed is a method of controlling the transfer of media content between a user terminal and a remote device, the remote device being capable of capturing sounds and/or images, both the terminal and the device being capable of multimedia data transfer using a mobile telecommunications network. The method comprises the steps of: sending a request from the terminal to the device, the request having an identifier; establishing a link between the device and the terminal; and transferring media content captured by the device to the terminal. The transfer only takes place if the identifier is indicative of one of a plurality of authorised reference identifiers stored in a memory of the device.
