Disclosed is a method for configuring installed security systems. The method includes a configurable device operable to capture video information and perform a plurality of security functions in an installed security system receiving at least one device programming file from a remote server via a network. The device is programmed to add a new security function associated with a new video analytic application to the device, the programming based on the received programming file. The security functions are associated with a plurality of video analytic and/or video processing applications. |
