Particles embedded in a porous substrate for removing target analyte from a sample

A device for filtering and separating a target agent from a sample that is flowed through the device includes stacked layers of resin embedded membranes of first and second layers of porous nonwoven fabric that are bonded together and have a plurality of particles impregnated within the layers or sandwiched between the layers. The porous nonwoven fabric has pore sizes greater than 10 micrometres and the particles have a size of from 40 to 200 micrometres. The target agent attaches itself to the porous nonwoven fabric, the particles or both and is thereby removed from the sample.
