<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein a conventional electrooptical device hardly improve display quality. <P>SOLUTION: This electrooptical device includes: a liquid crystal panel for displaying a plurality of images in a display region 67 by switching the images; and a lighting system for applying light on the liquid crystal panel. When switching the images, a previous image 181 before switching and an after image 183 after switching coexist in the display region 67, the previous image 181 and the after image 183 are arranged in order in a Y-direction across a boundary 185. When switching from the previous image 181 to the after image 183, the switching makes progress as the boundary 185 moves onto a before image 181 side in the Y-direction. In the liquid crystal panel, an irradiation region 215 which is irradiated by light is set to be smaller than the display region 67. The lighting system changes a position of the irradiation region 215 with respect to the display region 67 along the direction in which the boundary 185 moves in the Y-direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
