PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection system imaging an imaging target vividly by highly accurately detecting a light source of the imaging target or an object irradiated by the light source, to provide a signal processing method of the detection system, and to provide a smoke sensor. SOLUTION: The detection system 10 includes an imaging unit 12, light source 11, first arithmetic operation unit 134, second arithmetic operation unit 135, third arithmetic operation unit 137, detection unit 139, and correction instruction unit 1310. The correction instruction unit outputs a correction instruction signal when the absolute value of either an arithmetic operation result A or an arithmetic operation result B exceeds the amount of allowable drop. The third arithmetic operation unit 137 corrects the arithmetic operation result whose absolute value drops such that the amount of the drop is equal to or less than the amount of allowable drop, and executes an arithmetic operation when receiving the correction instruction signal S4.
