PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical video processor having constitution suitable for carrying out change over to side-by-side display at proper timing without burden on a doctor. SOLUTION: The medical video processor includes a means for obtaining image signals of images taken by an electronic scope, a means for generating a first image which can be displayed in a display device by subjecting first processing to the obtained image signals, a means for receiving predetermined image processing operation by a user, a means for generating a second image which can be displayed in a display device by subjecting second processing different from the first processing to the obtained image signals when the image processing operation is input, a means for comparing the first image and the second image, and a means for automatically changing over the display mode of the display device to the mode where the first image and the second image are displayed side by side in one screen based on the result of the comparison.
