470,122. Adjustable seats. TELTSCHER, J., and KRISTIANPOLLER, O. A. April 15, 1936, No. 10900. Convention date, April 17, 1935. [Class 52 (ii)] In an adjustable seat of the kind having a pivoted back 8 and a sliding seat 11 pivoted to the lower edge of the back, curved surfaces 11b, Fig. 1, or 22, Fig. 2, are provided on the seat or frame which coact with bars 12, Fig. 1, or lugs 21, Fig. 2, on the frame or seat respectively, so that the front of the seat is raised as it slides forward. Preferably, the curved surfaces are of non-circular form, and less steep at the commencement of the movement than at the later stages. The seat is thus in equilibrium when in use for all positions up to that in which seat and back are in line. In a further form, pins on the seat slide in curved slots in the frame. |
