The present invention provides a process for the formulation of a vegetable composition acting as a bio-fungicide against the Moniliophathora roreri fungus damaging the fruits of the cacao plant, which consists in bringing the pathogen into contact with an effective amount of a compound comprising an inert vehicle and an essential active vehicle such as a compound at concentrations of 20% to 50% of a mixture including, in a ratio of 1:1 (V/V), extracts obtained from fresh rhizomes of ginger (Zingiber officinale L.) and the dry bark of cinnamon plants (Cinnamomun zeylanicum). The invention describes the obtention, in a separate manner, of extracts in the form of a hydrolate from fresh rhizomes of ginger plants (Zingiber officinale L.) and the dry bark of cinnamon plants (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) and the aforementioned mixture in a ration of 1:1 (V/V) for the formulation of a bio-fungicide compound.
