<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically supply an operating voltage corresponding to a properly installed memory; and to prevent an improperly installed memory from being supplied with an inappropriate operating voltage. <P>SOLUTION: A detection part 13 accesses SPD 12, obtains the memory information, and detects the installation state of the memory 4. A control part 14 determines whether or not the memory 4 is properly installed based on the installation state of the memory 4. If the memory 4 is properly installed, the control part 14 determines whether or not the installed memory 4 is usable. If the memory 4 is usable, a voltage supply device 1 supplies the operating voltage corresponding to the memory 4 to the installed memory 4.
