PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing composite tungsten oxide ultrafine particles having a particle size of 100 nm or less which are sufficiently transparent in the visible light region and efficiently shield near-infrared rays.
SOLUTION: The composite tungsten oxide ultrafine particles can be produced by feeding a raw material along with a carrier gas of the raw material into a thermal plasma generated in an atmosphere solely in an inert gas or in a mixed gas of an inert gas and a hydrogen gas followed by evaporation and condensation processes. The raw material is either a powder prepared by mixing an M element compound with a tungsten compound so that a ratio of the M element to the W element will be equal to the ratio of the M element to the W element in the general formula: MxWyOz (wherein M represents one or more elements selected from Group I elements, Group II element, Group III elements, Group IV elements, and Yb; W represents tungsten; and O represents oxygen, provided that 0.001≤x/y≤1, 2.0<z/y≤3.0), or a composite tungsten oxide represented by the general formula: MxWyOz (wherein M represents the M element; W represents tungsten; and O represents oxygen, provided that 0.001≤x/y≤1, 2.0<z/y≤3.0).
COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
|
