PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side handle for a power tool, improving durability of an engagement part of a stopper pole and a lock member, reducing accidental movement of the lock member, and enhancing the reliability of the engagement state of the stopper pole and the engagement part, and also to provide a power tool mounted with the side handle for the power tool. SOLUTION: The side handle 40 for the power tool includes a holding part 41 and a gripping part 47. A through-hole H through which the stopper pole passes in parallel with a bit is formed in the holding part. The lock member 43 including the engagement part 43B engaging with a part to be engaged formed on the side surface of the stopper pole is stored in the side handle 40 for the power tool while it is slidingly operable between an engagement position P1 and a separation position P2, and it is energized to the engagement position by an energizing means 44. The lock member is arranged to make a sliding direction parallel with the protruding direction of the gripping part and to allow the engagement position P1 to be on the gripping part side and the separation position P2 to be on the holding part side.
