PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging system dust detector of a digital camera, which detects dust reflected on an image sensor without operating a shutter. SOLUTION: The imaging system dust detector of the digital camera includes: a shutter device for opening/closing a photographic optical path between a photographic lens and an imaging system; and an illuminating means for illuminating a surface of an optical element placed nearest to the photographic lens, among optical elements of the imaging system, wherein the illuminating means includes a light emitting element and a light distributing optical element which are disposed outside an photographic optical path between the shutter device and the surface of the optical element, and the light distributing optical element distributes illuminating light emitted from the light emitting element so that the illuminating light is regularly reflected by the surface of the optical element.
