PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas cooling device reducing deposits adhering to a cooler without forming a new flow passage while ensuring cooling efficiency required for cooling EGR gas. SOLUTION: An EGR cooler 72 of the exhaust gas cooling device 70 is disposed in a recirculation flow passage 20 allowing an exhaust flow passage to communicate with an intake flow passage. A cooler core 76 is stored inside of a housing 74 of the EGR cooler 72. A flap 92 is arranged on the side of the inlet of a cooling flow passage 210 formed by the cooler core 76, and guides a flowing direction of EGR gas led to flow into the housing 74 according to a turning angular position. Since the flowing direction of EGR gas is adjusted according to the turning angular position of the flap 92, an effective portion 78 where the EGR gas flows and an ineffective portion 80 where the EGR gas does not flow are generated in the cooler core 76. Thereby, the flow passage area of the cooling flow passage 210 where the EGR gas flows in the cooler core 76 is changed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
